Professional Code of Ethics
- Acts both loyally and honestly in carrying out the lawful
Rules and Regulations of the Association and not undermine its image or
reputation.
- Maintains at all times the highest standards of personal integrity and conduct in a performance of her professional duties.
- Accept responsibility for her own work and that of her subordinates.
- Acquaints and constantly familiarizes herself with new
secretarial and management knowledge, skills
and practices, and seeks to promote the increase of competence
in and the understanding of the secretarial profession by
encouraging the exchange of information.
- Promotes effective communications within the organization and where appropriate, outside it.
- Fully respects the confidentiality of information which
comes to her in the course of her duties and not uses confidential
information for personal gain or in a manner which may be
detrimental to the organization for which she works or has worked.
- Not make any public statements in her capacity as a
professional secretary without making clear, where appropriate, to all
concerned, her qualification to such statements and the capacity
in which she is speaking.
- Takes account of the needs and problems of her subordinates and be leadership sets an example.
- No member shall belittle or injure the professional
standing of any member of the profession or unnecessarily condemn the
character of her professional acts.
